TTE1050 5654 AMG 4.0 E63 / E63S UPGRADE TURBOCHARGERS

The TTE1050 hybrid performance turbochargers are engineered as a high-performance upgrade based on the original turbochargers fitted to the twin-turbocharged M177 4.0L AMG engine. Designed for Stage 3 power applications, they deliver substantial power gains while maintaining excellent spool characteristics and throttle response.

Engineered & Enhanced Design

To achieve the TTE1050 specification, the original turbochargers are extensively re-engineered using advanced engineering processes and proprietary components:

  • The factory compressor is replaced with a significantly larger, high-efficiency billet compressor wheel, featuring extended tip technology for improved airflow and efficiency.

  • The compressor housing is precision-machined to achieve optimal clearances, perfectly matched to the new compressor profile.

  • The original turbine is replaced with a larger, lightweight TTE 9-blade high-flow turbine, while the turbine housing is CNC-machined to accommodate the upgraded design.

  • The factory thrust bearing is replaced with a TTE uprated bearing system to ensure durability under increased boost and load conditions.

TTE 9-Blade Turbine Technology

The TTE 9-blade turbine is a proprietary design developed by TheTurboEngineers, offering significant performance advantages:

  • Increased exhaust gas flow, reducing back pressure

  • Lower exhaust gas temperatures for safer high-boost operation

  • Extremely low rotating mass, reducing moment of inertia

  • Fast spool-up and responsive performance despite increased flow capacity

This combination allows higher boost pressures to be achieved safely without compromising drivability.

Precision Balancing & Equilibrium

Achieving perfect balance is critical to turbocharger performance, reliability, and longevity. Every TTE1050 turbocharger undergoes a meticulous multi-stage balancing process that exceeds OEM standards:

  1. Individual components are balanced at low speeds up to 2,800 RPM across multiple planes using dedicated single-part balancing equipment.

  2. Once assembled, the CHRA (Center Housing Rotating Assembly) is dynamically balanced using TTE’s in-house VSR (Vibration Sorting Rig) at speeds of up to 250,000 RPM, depending on application.

  3. Balancing is performed in multiple planes to achieve optimal equilibrium, enhancing durability, performance consistency, and acoustic refinement.

Each turbocharger set is supplied with a serial-numbered balance test certificate, confirming compliance with TTE’s stringent quality and performance standards.
