Save time and money, leave the exhaust manifolds on your car.
If you experienced one or two turbo failures and did not drive for too long afterwards ,there is a good chance your exhaust manifolds are still reusable.
The most common reason for the failures on these cars is the oil feed lines have screens that were designed to filter the oil. but this poor design makes the screens clog up and removing the oil pressure to the turbos resulting in failures.
THE OIL FEED SCREENS NEED TO BE REPLACED FOR WARRANTY
You can inspect your turbine housings by splitting the CHRA from the housings by removing the V band clamp holding the turbine housing / exhaust manifold to the Super core like in these pictures.
If your mechanic deems them reusable then you can install these Super cores along with the oil feed screens and leave the housings bolted onto the car.
If not you have to remove the housings and send them in as a core exchange for our complete units.
