The TTE1140 represents the largest and most advanced hybrid turbocharger solution currently available for the BMW S58 platform. Developed as an evolution of our race-proven and championship-winning TTE940 Stage, the TTE1140 is engineered for customers seeking maximum power potential while retaining true plug-and-play compatibility.
To create each matched pair of TTE1140 turbochargers, the original compressor wheels are removed and replaced with significantly larger, high-efficiency 55mm billet compressor wheels. The compressor housings are CNC-machined to precise tolerances, ensuring optimal clearance and airflow characteristics tailored specifically to the new compressor profile.
On the turbine side, we install TTE 9-blade low-mass 54mm turbine wheels, designed to deliver substantially increased exhaust flow while reducing rotational mass. This results in lower exhaust gas temperatures at high boost levels, faster response, and improved overall efficiency. An upgraded TTE performance bearing pack is also fitted, ensuring long-term durability and reliability under extreme operating conditions.
To complement the turbocharger upgrade, we supply TTE high-flow turbo inlet intakes, compatible with both the OEM air intake system and EVENTURI setups. These inlets eliminate airflow restrictions while maintaining ease of installation, making them ideal for high-power street and track applications. Combined, this package delivers exceptional power capability as a true plug-and-play hybrid turbocharger solution.
Precision Balancing & Equilibrium
Turbocharger balancing is a critical element of every TTE upgrade, where longevity, performance, and refinement are non-negotiable. Superior balance not only enhances durability at high RPM but also improves acoustic behavior and smooth operation.
Each component is initially balanced individually at low speeds of up to 2,800 RPM across multiple planes using dedicated single-part balancing equipment. Once assembled, the complete CHRA undergoes high-speed dynamic balancing on our in-house VSR balancing system, reaching speeds of up to 250,000 RPM, depending on the application. This process achieves equilibrium standards that exceed OEM specifications.
Every TTE1140 turbocharger set is supplied with a serial-numbered balance test certificate, providing documented proof of precision engineering and quality assurance.
