The TTE1200 Hybrid Turbocharger System represents a no-compromise, Stage 3+ performance solution engineered specifically for the twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter AMG V8 found in the Mercedes-AMG E63 and E63 S. Developed from the original OEM turbochargers, this upgrade is designed to deliver a substantial increase in airflow and power potential while maintaining excellent spool characteristics, sharp throttle response, and the durability required for high-performance road and track use.
Engineered for High Output with OEM-Level Integration
The TTE1200 upgrade is built on genuine factory turbocharger cores to ensure perfect fitment, reliability, and compatibility with the AMG 4.0 platform. Each unit is completely disassembled and re-engineered using advanced CNC machining processes and proprietary internal components, transforming the standard turbochargers into a significantly higher-flowing and more efficient system.
At the heart of the upgrade is a substantially larger, high-efficiency billet compressor wheel featuring extended tip technology. This design increases airflow capacity while improving compressor efficiency across the rev range. To support this upgrade, the compressor housing is precision CNC-machined to achieve the optimal clearance for the new compressor profile, maximizing efficiency, minimizing turbulence, and improving overall boost control.
Advanced Turbine Technology for Superior Flow and Response
On the turbine side, the original turbines are replaced with specially designed lightweight 9-blade high-flow turbine wheels. The turbine housing is CNC-machined to accommodate the larger turbine geometry, allowing a significant increase in exhaust gas flow.
This advanced turbine design offers multiple performance advantages:
Reduced exhaust back pressure for improved engine breathing
Lower exhaust gas temperatures (EGTs), enhancing reliability under sustained high boost
The ability to safely run higher boost levels for increased power output
Reduced rotating mass, resulting in a lower moment of inertia and faster spool-up
Despite the increased size and flow capability, the turbochargers retain excellent responsiveness, making them well suited for both aggressive street driving and demanding motorsport applications.
Precision Balancing and Quality Control
Turbocharger balancing is a critical factor in achieving long-term reliability, smooth operation, and consistent performance. Every TTE1200 turbocharger undergoes an extensive multi-stage balancing process that exceeds OEM standards.
Individual rotating components are first balanced at low speeds (up to 2,800 RPM) in multiple planes using dedicated single-part balancing equipment. Once assembled, the complete CHRA (Center Housing Rotating Assembly) is dynamically balanced at ultra-high speeds—up to 250,000 RPM—using an in-house VSR (Vibration Sorting Rig). This process ensures optimal equilibrium under real operating conditions, significantly improving durability, performance stability, and acoustic refinement.
Each turbocharger set is supplied with a serial-numbered balance test report, providing documented proof of the balancing results and quality assurance.
