TTE480+ TSI 5154 VAG UPGRADE TURBOCHARGER

The TTE480+ starts as a brand-new BorgWarner K04-064 turbocharger, which we fully dismantle and re-engineer to create the ultimate K04 hybrid for the EA888.1 platform. Designed for the 2.0 TSI range, this upgrade delivers substantial performance gains while maintaining near-original equipment fitment.

Engineered & Optimized

At the heart of the TTE480+ is the 2871X TTE billet compressor wheel, a highly efficient, next-generation design with ultra-thin blades. This compressor generates exceptional airflow relative to its size and features a broad, optimized compressor map. The re-profiled compressor cover is precision-machined for maximum efficiency, and the original PCV port is blanked with a TTE billet cover for smooth, unrestricted airflow. The intake pipe is CNC-ported and hand-finished to ensure a seamless path for incoming air, maximizing flow into the compressor.

We also incorporate a billet CNC boost adapter and silencer delete to eliminate restrictions, improving both airflow and sound. The compressor cover is CNC-milled to accept our billet TTE recirculation valve adapter, allowing the use of an original VAG recirculation valve for reliable, OE-like operation.

High-Flow Turbine & Manifold Enhancement

To complement the 2871X compressor, a larger 9-blade high-flow turbine is machined and fitted while retaining the K04 core. This turbine reduces backpressure and lowers exhaust gas temperatures compared to stock, unlocking substantial power potential. The exhaust manifold is CNC-ported at the head flange to optimize gas flow into the larger turbine, further enhancing efficiency. The original silencer is removed, and the new boost outlet is welded in the correct position for seamless integration.

Advanced Bearing & Actuation Systems

The TTE480+ features a 360° high-performance motorsport journal bearing system, engineered for durability under high loads while maintaining rapid transient response. The actuator is an uprated OE-style unit with reinforced clamps, ensuring reliable, trouble-free operation.

Precision Balance & Quality Assurance

Every TTE turbocharger undergoes meticulous balancing to ensure maximum performance, longevity, and acoustic refinement. Components are initially balanced at low speeds (up to 2,800 RPM) across multiple planes. After assembly, the CHRA is dynamically balanced at up to 250,000 RPM using our in-house VSR machine, achieving equilibrium far beyond OEM standards. Each unit is supplied with a serial-numbered balance test certificate for full traceability.
