The TTE600 RACE is engineered from the original RS3 8V.2 / TTRS 8S EA855 EVO turbocharger platform and carefully adapted by TheTurboEngineers to integrate seamlessly with earlier-generation CZGB, CEPA, and CEPB engines. This upgrade represents a refined first-step hybrid performance solution, delivering exceptionally rapid spool characteristics, sharp throttle response, and a substantial horsepower increase over the factory EVO unit while maintaining reliability and drivability.
Extensively tested, developed, and validated for approximately one year by MTR Performance prior to release, the TTE600 RACE is purpose-built for drivers seeking strong, dependable performance rather than extreme peak figures. The result is a fast-spooling turbocharger capable of supporting up to 600 hp in properly configured applications.
Advanced Internal Engineering
To achieve higher output and efficiency, the compressor wheel is replaced with a precision-milled aluminum unit featuring state-of-the-art 7 + 7 blade geometry for enhanced airflow and power potential. The original exhaust turbine is substituted with a significantly larger yet lightweight 9-blade TTE-designed turbine, reducing exhaust backpressure and improving overall engine performance. Durability is further enhanced through the integration of a proven TTE motorsport-grade bearing system.
Thermal Efficiency & OEM-Level Integration
For new-unit orders, the turbocharger is built using the latest-generation original units from BorgWarner and incorporates the newest-specification thermal insulation shielding developed by Audi. This advanced heat-management system lowers engine-bay temperatures, promoting safety, consistency, and optimal performance.
Precision Balancing — The TTE Standard
Accurate balancing is fundamental to both longevity and performance. Each turbocharger undergoes a multi-stage balancing process:
Component Pre-Balancing — Individual parts are balanced at low speeds up to 2,800 RPM across multiple planes.
Assembly Balancing — After assembly, the CHRA is dynamically balanced.
High-Speed VSR Calibration — Final balancing is performed in-house at speeds up to 250,000 RPM, ensuring equilibrium well beyond OEM standards.
Every unit is supplied with a serial-numbered balance test certificate, confirming compliance with strict quality tolerances and providing confidence in both reliability and acoustic smoothness.
