Welcome to the TTE850 VTG upgrade stage, engineered specifically for the 3.8-litre flat-six engine. The TTE850 VTG package represents a comprehensive re-engineering of the original turbochargers to deliver significantly increased airflow, efficiency, and performance while maintaining excellent drivability and reliability.

To construct each matched pair of TTE850 VTG turbochargers, the original backplates are replaced with Generation 2 backplates and compressor covers. A substantially larger and highly efficient billet compressor wheel is then installed. The Gen 2 compressor covers are CNC-machined to achieve the optimal clearance, precisely matched to the new compressor wheel profile for maximum efficiency and performance.

The turbine assemblies remain OEM-based but are carefully clipped to increase exhaust flow and reduce exhaust gas temperatures. Additional material is selectively removed to lower rotating mass, improving throttle response. Furthermore, the exhaust housings are CNC-machined to enhance gas flow characteristics and overall turbocharger efficiency.

Precision Balancing & Equilibrium

Accurate balancing is a critical requirement for every TTE upgrade turbocharger, where performance, durability, and acoustic refinement are paramount. Superior balance not only extends service life but also improves smoothness and sound quality.

Each turbocharger undergoes a rigorous multi-stage balancing process. Individual components are initially balanced at low speeds of up to 2,800 RPM across multiple planes using dedicated single-part balancing equipment. Once assembled, the CHRA units are dynamically balanced using our in-house VSR (Vibration Sorting Rig) at operating speeds of up to 250,000 RPM, again in multiple planes.

This process achieves an equilibrium standard that exceeds OEM specifications. Every TTE turbocharger is supplied with a serial-numbered balance test certificate, providing full traceability and assurance of quality.
