TTE880 5154 AUDI RS4, S4 B5 UPGRADE TURBOCHARGERS

The TTE880 turbocharger system for the 2.7T engine represents the next evolution of performance engineering, developed from the acclaimed TTE780+ series and designed to deliver exceptional power with rapid response. Built using RS6 exhaust turbine housings and a combination of genuine RS6 and RS4 K04 OE turbocharger cores, these units are extensively re-engineered with premium components—primarily from BorgWarner or higher-grade equivalents—to achieve optimal reliability, efficiency, and performance.

Engineering & Performance Design

Each TTE880 unit is precision-engineered to provide substantial power gains while maintaining excellent drivability. The system is carefully balanced to deliver both strong top-end performance and quick spool characteristics, ensuring responsiveness throughout the rev range.

The upgraded RS4 compressor covers feature enlarged, CNC-machined billet inlets produced in-house to exact tolerances. This ensures ideal clearance for the advanced high-pressure billet compressor wheel while preserving aerodynamic efficiency. Compressor cover outlets are also professionally ported and polished to smooth airflow into the boost pipework, improving flow efficiency and reducing turbulence.

Advanced Compressor Technology

The compressor wheel utilizes a 7+7 blade billet-milled, high-pressure anti-surge design engineered for superior airflow and pressure delivery. Its lightweight, low-inertia construction enables rapid spool-up at lower engine speeds while minimizing heat generation during high-boost operation. This results in a turbocharger that performs like a larger unit while retaining fast transient response and improved thermal efficiency.

High-Flow Turbine System

RS6 turbine housings are CNC-machined in-house to accommodate a significantly larger 9-blade turbine wheel with optimized clearances for maximum efficiency. The exhaust inlet port is also enlarged from approximately 38 mm to 44 mm and tapered to increase throat area and flow capacity prior to the turbine, allowing greater exhaust gas volume without excessive backpressure.

The proprietary TTE 9-blade turbine and shaft assembly is both lightweight and high-flow, enabling the system to handle substantially higher exhaust gas loads compared to conventional turbine designs while maintaining rapid response characteristics.

Motorsport-Grade Bearing & Actuation

A specially developed 360-degree high-performance journal bearing system ensures durability under increased load while preserving transient response. Upgraded genuine BorgWarner actuators with reinforced clamps are fitted as standard and can be calibrated to customer-specified requirements for precise boost control.

Precision Balancing & Quality Assurance

Balancing is a critical factor in achieving TTE performance standards. Individual components are initially balanced at low speeds up to 2,800 RPM in multiple planes. After assembly, the CHRA is dynamically balanced at speeds up to 250,000 RPM using an in-house VSR system—far exceeding typical OEM balancing procedures. Each turbocharger set is supplied with a serial-numbered balance test certificate verifying its precision and quality.
