TTE440L 5154 PORSCHE 2.0 TSI UPGRADE TURBOCHARGER

The TTE440L represents the latest evolution in hybrid performance turbocharging, engineered by The Turbo Engineers and developed from the original IHI turbocharger fitted to the Porsche Macan 2.0 TSI. Designed to deliver reliable Stage 3 performance, the TTE440L offers exceptional spool characteristics, rapid throttle response, and outstanding drivability. It is widely regarded as one of the highest-performing plug-and-play hybrid turbochargers currently available.

Engineered & Enhanced Performance

To create the TTE440L, the original compressor is replaced with a significantly larger, high-efficiency billet compressor wheel featuring advanced extended-tip technology. The compressor housing is CNC-machined to precise tolerances, ensuring optimal clearance and maximum aerodynamic efficiency matched perfectly to the upgraded wheel profile.

On the turbine side, the original turbine is removed and replaced with a TTE-designed lightweight 9-blade turbine. The turbine housing is CNC-machined to accommodate the larger turbine, resulting in substantially increased exhaust gas flow and improved overall efficiency. Additionally, the standard thrust bearing is upgraded to a TTE in-house manufactured 360-degree performance thrust bearing, engineered to withstand higher loads and extended high-boost operation.

TTE CNC Silencer Delete

The TTE440L is also equipped with our CNC silencer delete modification. This process involves removing the restrictive internal baffle from the turbocharger discharge silencer and replacing it with a precision-machined straight-through section. The result is reduced flow restriction, improved turbo efficiency, and a more pronounced and engaging exhaust sound character.

Advanced 9-Blade Turbine Technology

The proprietary TTE 9-blade turbine is specifically designed to enhance exhaust gas flow while reducing back pressure and lowering exhaust gas temperatures. This allows for safer operation at higher boost levels. Its exceptionally low mass reduces rotational inertia, enabling faster spool-up and sharper throttle response despite the increased turbine size.

Precision Balancing & Equilibrium

Turbocharger balancing is a critical element of every TTE upgrade, where durability, refinement, and performance are non-negotiable. Each component is initially balanced individually at low speeds of up to 2,800 RPM across multiple planes using dedicated single-part balancing equipment.

Once assembled, the CHRA (Center Housing Rotating Assembly) undergoes high-speed dynamic balancing on our in-house VSR (Vibration Sorting Rig). Depending on the application, balancing is performed at speeds of up to 250,000 RPM, achieving equilibrium levels that exceed OEM standards. This meticulous process enhances longevity, performance stability, and acoustic quality.

Every TTE440L turbocharger is supplied with a serial-numbered balance test report, providing documented assurance of quality and precision engineering.
